My name is Billy Gray. I am a high school Health and Wellness Teacher and head girls soccer/cross country coach.
This is my 8th year as a teacher, but took a 2 year sabbatical to live my life on my terms.
I am a photographer, documentarian, travel reviewer, and blogger in my free time.
I am an avid traveler. I have been fortunate enough to visit 36 countries on 6 continents.
I enjoy seeing nature's beauty and experiencing foreign cultures. I enjoy spending time in the outdoors, camping, and hiking.
I speak English, French, German, and Spanish.
I have practiced yoga and meditation on a daily basis for the past 3 years and it has transformed my life.
I am a vegetarian 99% of the time, but occasionally have fish. I work out everyday, and play on too many soccer teams.
When it's all over I'll be able to say one thing: I Lived.
Alistair Humphreys and others like him are my inspiration and motivation. To see the world, live life how I see fit, without the pressures of society is my ultimate goal.
I recently purchased a packraft, have completed buying all my necessary back country gear, and plan to head out into the wild for the foreseeable future.
Motivational, inspirational, and educational books and documentaries will follow my journey every step of the way with one purpose - to encourage others to do what they want to do in life, regardless of their current circumstances.
Experience, money, equipment are bonuses, all you need is an idea and the willingness to see it through.
After years of planning, contemplating, hoping - I've decided I need to take my own advice. Starting in the summer of 2015 I will begin my first large scale outdoor adventure through Norway - packrafting, hiking the rivers, mountains, and fjords.
